OHA Premier League Women matched the men’s result with a draw against top-two rivals NWG on Saturday 12/9/20. OHA started brightly, with goals to Nellie Paynter and Julia Gunn taking them to a 2-0 lead at half-time. But NWG proved their credentials with a stronger second half and leading goalscorer Grace Calvert hit the net twice late in the match to drag NWG back for a 2-2 draw. The result wasn’t without controversy however, as a third OHA goal was disallowed. It will be interesting to see the replays for that one, but of course the result stands, and it leaves NWG on top of the ladder by one point. There are two rounds to play, but second looks the likely outcome for OHA, which will reward them with the double chance in finals and another opportunity to test themselves against NWG.
