OHA Hockey Club lost one of our brightest stars last week, with the passing of Livinia Sproule.

Liv was an outstanding hockey player. Coming up through the clubs junior ranks, Liv represented the state at multiple national tournaments, from U12s through to U18s. Liv’s strong defence and calm manner on the field saw her cement her place in our Premier League Women’s team, achieving more than 60 PL caps.

From volunteering to helping with training, to match managing, putting out sponsor’s signs and helping set up OHA events, Liv never said no to helping anyone, anytime. Liv’s contribution to the club was recognised in 2012 when she was awarded the Junior Clubwoman Trophy.

Liv’s strength and determination was second to none and her caring nature and positive approach to life earnt her many accolades, including the Bec Ryan Award for A-Pool Women at this year’s Club Trophy Night. This award truly epitomised Liv.

“For a player who is very determined, sets goals and achieves what they set out to do. It is for a player who has a positive approach to life, and is supportive of friends and colleagues – doing anything for anyone, anytime.”

Liv’s generous soul has created memories for us all to cherish. She was a valued member of this club, who will be greatly missed by her team and club mates.

Her loss is devastating and our thoughts are with Daniel, Natalie and Jaxon, and their family.
