The Women’s Premier League semi-final didn’t go OHA’s way, but it was a good match, with scoring opportunities at each end. Derwent just proved more of a handful in attack, and they advanced directly to the grand final with a 4-1 win. OHA will now face Diamondbacks in the preliminary final at 2.30pm Saturday (31 August), after D/Backs knocked out reining premiers NWG in the other semi-final.
OHA’s goal was smacked home from a tomahawk by Maddi Brooks after a PC variation. It levelled the score at 1-1, but unfortunately a healthy number of subsequent OHA PCs didn’t produce another goal. A little more good fortune in the circle in the next couple of weeks can see OHA hold the cup, and the first challenge is to put that pressure on D/Backs.
