The OHA Premier League Men met University in the final match of “Green Day” on 29-6-19 and quickly established a dominance that lasted the whole game.
Jeremy Edwards made a welcome appearance, and his speed and classy stick-skills were a joy to watch. He combined well with his teammates and scored 2 strong goals, the second after a blistering run that left the defenders in his wake. Kurt Mackey also found the net twice. Ollie Smith added a nice reverse stick goal. Alex Moir was flattened in the circle on approach to goal, resulting in a Penalty Stroke that was converted by James Thomas. Fortunately Alex was not hurt and was on hand later to eliminate the Uni ‘keeper with a pass to Sam for the neat tap home on the post, to give OHA a 7th goal.
No, not that Sam, we’re talkin’ Keats here! The OHA PCD crew kept up the good work denying Uni any PC goals, and the final result was a 7-2 win that provided everyone in green something extra to celebrate as they headed into a very enjoyable pie-night and charity auction.
Third place on the ladder is a little more strongly held now. The loyal spectators should be mindful that the OHA PL men play twice this coming week – against Diamondbacks on Friday night (6 July) and then Canterbury on Saturday afternoon (7 July).
