Dear Members & Supporters,
Well, what a magnificent day for our 100 year old club. The Club Green Day went off without a hitch on Saturday the 29th June. The weather held out, the pies were hot and the love and feeling of the OHA club spirit was well and truly in the air. The images of the Whole of Club Photo have turned out very nicely and will be a very memorable moment for our club to reflect on in years to come.
Thank you to all those that supported our Auctions we hope you enjoy the many and varied experiences, services and products you have taken home. They were provided to us by members, businesses and friends of the club. We are so fortunate to have people that are so generous and giving. I was totally blown away by the generosity shown to our club in organizing this auction and green day.
I was lucky enough to have the chance to catch up with both old and new members of our club over the day, some of whom had not been to the hockey centre for decades. It really shows the depth of history we have, and the love people have for the Ships.
I cannot thank those that assisted on the day enough for all their hard work, their assistance helped make the day run as smoothly as it did. A great example of everyone chipping in for the club when needed. Thank you.
Lastly to the General & Centenary Committee members. We started the planning for this 100th birthday 4 years ago and the results speak for themselves. Thank you for the immeasurable time and effort you put in to plan and execute our Club Green day. It was not only a significant event for our great club but significant in hockey and sport in Australia. I’m sure our members acknowledge the mammoth effort it takes to run an event like that, so please accept my thanks on behalf of them.
