OHA PL Women met close rivals Diamondbacks on Sunday 20 September, in their third match of season 2020. The first two games had been split with a 2-1 win and loss each, so perhaps the result of this latest game was appropriate as a 2-2 draw. But OHA may feel it was wrenched from their grasp, with the D/Backs equalizer coming from a re-taken Penalty Corner after the final siren. OHA will finish the regular season in second place, with D/Backs third. If they do meet again in the finals it will be a tightly contested match. OHA’s experienced players Sarah McCambridge, Jean Flanagan and Sof McLeod stood out, and the goals came from the busy Maddi Brooks and Julia Gunn. The final PL round matches (for both the men and women) will be on Sunday 27 September, but there’s plenty of reason to head to the Hockey Centre on Saturday too, as the OHA 1st grade women will play their grand-final.
