OHA PL Men had a dominant 5-1 win over Diamondbacks on a sunny Saturday 19 September. The A-pool women set up their picnic on the grass hill at the highway end and had front-row seats for a 4-goal second-half, including one of the goals of the season from Jeremy Edwards. OHA had many early goal attempts thwarted by D/Backs ‘keeper Grant Woodcock, and lead by a single goal at half-time, thanks to a neat Ollie Smith finish off some hard work in the circle by Isaac Bridley. The second half opened more opportunities and apart from Jez’s forestick bullet, goals came for Jo Murphy (from the Penalty Spot), Ned Paynter and Isaac Bridley. D/Backs managed one back from a somewhat questionable Penalty Stroke award but the game was absolutely safe by then. Solid performances from Will Boyce, Nick Leslie, and Isaac Bridley led the way. OHA rested a few players recovering from niggles and it was great to see Jake Morton having a PL run and looking completely at home out there!
