The OHA Premier League Women made it 5 wins from the first 5 matches of the 2020 season by easily accounting for defending premiers Derwent in a 7-0 victory that showcased exciting and high-quality midfield and attacking play.

Sof McLeod, Sarah McCambridge, Maddi Murphy and Bree Macaulay led the charge in front of goal and the halftime score was 6-0. Derwent found some attacking options in the second half, but nothing got past the OHA defenders and Maddi Murphy added green icing to the cake with a 7th OHA goal.

Maddi now heads back to the University of Iowa in the USA for her final year of Engineering studies, and won’t be home again until after the hockey finals. We wish her bon voyage and good fortune! The team will miss her skill and drive – and her beaming smile – but there is enough strength across the lines to suggest that OHA can cover her absence and maintain their winning ways.

This is a team that rewards its spectators, so get out there and watch the match-up against Canterbury on Pitch 1 at 4 pm next Saturday!
