Hockey Tasmania is pleased to announce that a return to hockey in 2020 is now upon us, with registrations re-opened and turf training commencing this week.

Competitions will either resume or commence in July with rosters and exact dates to be confirmed soon, though we are encouraged by the improving situation statewide and look forward to a potentially earlier start date than originally considered.

The 2020 winter season will be shortened, and to reflect this Hockey Tasmania has decided on the following changes to registration fees for 2020:

1. The removal of all Hockey Tasmania junior registration fees;
2. All senior registrations will be charged at the Half Season Flexi rate only, regardless of number of games played;
3. The removal of the $5 Stick2Hockey registration fee for all juniors.

The Hockey Australia levy and insurance portion of registrations remains unchanged (Hockey Australia have confirmed they will freeze these fees for 2021).

The Hockey Tasmania Board and Management understand the financial impact on our hockey community throughout this recent period. Some are obviously more effected than others, but we are committed to supporting as many of our members return back to our sport.

We hope the free HT registration for all our juniors will encourage as many as possible back to playing this season. We also acknowledge that while the half season flexi registration may see some members playing more games than others, the overall impact will be positive and will assist in easing some of the financial burdens, resulting in as many of our senior members returning to playing this season.
