The OHA Junior Academy has been running this February, with the last session being offered next Monday, 2nd of March, between 5:30pm and 7pm.
Each session has seen approximately 30 juniors attending, with representatives from our S2H super 6’s up to our U15 teams. The focus of the OHA Junior Academy is to enjoy hockey, work on skills development, meet new players and have fun!
I think it’s safe to say that all of these aims have been met – particularly during our mass game at the end of each Academy. Having 2 teams of 15 players each (players and coaches included) on the field made for what could only be called joyful chaos!
During the Academy, we have been lucky to have specialist-running coach Darren Alomes, taking sessions on running techniques and our own Nick Murton workshopping stretching techniques.
A huge thank you to all our A-Pool players and coaches for their organisation and help running the skills sessions, it is greatly appreciated. It has been wonderful to see the support from parents and older players during the 2020 Junior Academy. Thank you to all that have attended and we look forward to a fantastic finish on the 2nd of March.
