The OHA teams competing on the day treated their supporters to great hockey, none more so than the Premier League teams that put the icing on the green cake with wins over Uni, 3-0 for the Women and 7-2 for the men.
In the PL Women’s game Julia Gunn opened the scoring with a strong hit from a great run and pass from Nellie Paynter. This was Jules’ goal number 10 for the season and maintains her lead on the PL Women’s goal-scoring table.
A similar circle entry and forestick hit followed closely, with Sarah McCambridge scoring OHA’s second goal after circle entry passes from Jean Flanagan and Ella Berresford. Jean got into attacking mode throughout the game and finally nabbed a goal for herself, from a PC late in the final quarter.
The 3-0 win to OHA strengthens their second position on the ladder, only a game off top spot.
