OHA Premier League Women pulled off a major coup on Saturday, with a comprehensive 6-1 demolition of perennial rivals and defending premiers NWG.

It was the first time NWG had been beaten in a regular season match since 2017.

OHA played sparkling hockey that was a pleasure to watch – one of those games where passes connect, the play flows and scoring opportunities don’t go to waste.

Maddi Brooks found holes in the famed NWG defence, and OHA’s goals were all from close-range shots, most of which were set up by forward passes from Maddi.

Julia Gunn hit season-best form and nabbed a hat-trick, Hannah Richards scored twice, and Ella Berresford also got on the score-sheet.

OHA consolidated second place on the ladder, with only undefeated Derwent ahead, setting up an unmissable match of the round for next week.
