Dear members
We are now several weeks into the senior season and a couple into the junior season. OHA teams of all age groups and grades are performing well and most importantly enjoying their hockey.
Two quick messages from me;
Firstly a thank you to our Treasurer, Gernot Roehrer for getting our annual subscriptions out this year, as this is no small feat! Thank you to coaches for providing your team lists to help achieve this task. As we always have, we have worked our hardest to keep subs as low as possible. As a matter of interest please see the pie chart below which shows the breakdown of the years subs.
Secondly, a timely reminder for all OHA members and supporters.
We hold our club values dearly. These include providing a supportive and inclusive environment for all players, umpires and members of the broader hockey community. These values, coupled with the agreement we have signed with Hockey Tasmania (HT) bind us to ensure that we treat each other, umpires and the opposition with respect at all times. Particularly our umpires.
OHA has the great privilege of having one of the strongest pool of umpires in the competition; both an experienced A-Pool group but also a large group of developing B-Pool and junior umpires. I want to remind all coaches, players and spectators throughout the club that we must abide by the commitments we have made by accepting HT agreements, but also the values of our club, in treating everyone with respect and consideration. We will not accept any excuse for failing to meet these expectations at all times.
I look forward to seeing our full club spirit in action as the season goes on, in the professional way in which we have always conducted ourselves.
Regards
David McCambridge
