We are pleased to announce the appointment of two Co-Coaches for the 2018 season. In what is likely a first for hockey in Tasmania, Sister and Brother combination Sarah and Sam McCambridge will step into the role effective immediately. They bring with them a significant amount of playing, coaching and club experience.
Sarah, a player at OHA for some 15 years with more than 200 individual caps in Premier League, is a 10-time premiership player. She has won the OHA and Northern Hockey League best and fairest awards no less than 5 occasions and is the current AHL Van Daemons Captain. Her tenacious attitude to hockey netted her the top women’s goal scorer award in 2017 in the GNL and a swathe of other accolades in her career.
Like his sister, Sam also took home a top goal scorer award in 2017 in the SHL for the 5th time. He is, like many McCambridge’s, born into the OHA club and has some 280 premier league men’s appearances to his name along with his 250 career goals. The 2014 AHL gold medallist also featured three times in an SIS/SAS Australian Team versus the United States in 2013. The five-time premiership player said he is “excited for the 2018 season and the ready for the challenge”.
These two top level players are poised to begin their campaign for 2018 as Co-Coaches and look forward to results of their plans come finals time.
